Effective July 15, 2020, Colorado requires all employers to provide paid leave for COVID-19 related events including illness, quarantine, or care giving responsibilities. It also provides protection for whistle blowers who report violations of this provision and/or individuals who take advantage of paid leave under this statute.
MSFF and CO AFT lobbied hard to ensure that higher education faculty are covered by these protections. Be sure to use them if you need to; you helped make them happen through your Union membership.
